Reporting carbon emissions and reducing energy use are important to America’s economic future, and LPB Energy Management provides solutions for businesses and government agencies to report carbon emissions.

Utility Manager â„¢, LPB Energy Management’s award-winning energy management software, now offers comprehensive carbon emissions reporting. Utility Manager â„¢ provides a set of reports that support efforts to understand and manage an organization’s greenhouse gas emissions. The reporting functionality allows customers to quantify CO2 emissions resulting from its energy consumption, identify reduction opportunities and measure reduction over time.

“In today’s economic climate, shareholders need to take a closer look at their carbon footprint,” said Matthew Berke, president of LPB Energy Management. “Transparency is the watchword when it comes to shareholders and carbon emissions reporting. “

Utility Manager â„¢ provides seven reports and graphs that display information on total CO2 emissions as well as CO2 emissions reduction. Using Utility Manager â„¢, customers can monitor: CO2 emissions history reports, CO2 emissions history graphs, CO2 reduction reports, CO2 reduction graphs, reports comparison of CO2 emission sites, graphs of CO2 reduction equivalents and emission factors.

To determine carbon emissions, Utility Manager â„¢ uses a set of factors developed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and published in the eGRID database. LPB Energy Management uses these factors, combined with usage data in a customer’s Utility Manager â„¢ database to generate a comprehensive carbon emissions report for the customer.

In recent years, energy users have become increasingly aware of the link between fuel consumption and the creation of CO2, a greenhouse gas that causes global warming. As a result, many companies and government agencies actively participate in energy audit programs aimed at reducing both energy use and emissions.

“Reporting carbon emissions and reducing energy use are important to America’s economic future, and LPB Energy Management provides solutions for businesses and government agencies to report carbon emissions,” said added Berke.
